The original is nine inches deep
Longer than nearly anyone using it, and that is on purpose.
The full-size case is about 25 centimetres long and the channel inside it about 22.9, which is nine inches. The average erect penis is 13.1 centimetres, so the sleeve is built with most of its length unused by most of the people holding it. The compact models cut the case to roughly half and keep the same material.
The extra length is not a claim about anybody. A sleeve that ended where its owner does would hit bottom on every stroke, and the sensation the product sells depends on the end being somewhere you can choose to reach rather than somewhere you arrive.
What to do with it
Nobody needs the full nine inches, so the length is not what to choose on. The compact models hold the same material in a shorter case, cost less, dry faster and fit in a drawer, which is why they are the sensible first one to own.
The suction cap is the setting that changes the feel most. Start with it loose. A tight cap plus a firm texture is exactly the combination that a hand cannot reproduce, which is the thing to avoid if partner sex is the point.
